After you exit the Bandaranaike International Airport, you
will be greeted by a LMS Travels representative who will be your chauffeur
for the rest of this popular Sri Lanka Ramayana Tour. Your first stop will be Colombo.
In the evening visit Colombo city tour (Depend by your Arrival)
Ramayana trip in Sri Lanka is the Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple in Colombo – the
only temple in the world that has a chariot of Anjaneyar.
Overnight stay in Colombo.
After an enjoyable breakfast at the hotel and once you have
checked out from the hotel, you will be driven to Chilaw city. Here you will be
able to visit the Munneshwaram Temple. This is the temple where Lord Rama felt
safe and asked God Shiva for a remedy to overcome his fear. Afterwards, you
will be driven to the Mannavari Temple (20 minutes' drive) – Mannavari being the
first lingam installed and prayed to by Lord Rama.
After the visits to these two temples, you will then proceed
to Kandy, visiting the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage (on your request) enroute.
You will spend the night in Kandy.
The following morning, you will be driven to Nuwara Eliya
for a one-night stay. En route, you will visit the Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple in
Ramboda – about 1 hour & 30 mins drive from Kandy. This Hanuman deity temple was
built by the Chinmaya mission of Sri Lanka and special Pooja’s are conducted
here every full moon day, which is witnessed by thousands of devotees.
Thereafter, you will then refresh and freshen up at the hotel in Nuwara Eliya
and in the evening visit the Gayathri Peedam.
Hindu’s believe this is where Lord Shiva blessed King Ravana’s son with
supernatural powers.
You will spend the night at a hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
On day 4 of this popular Sri Lanka Ramayana Tour, you can
visit the Seetha Amman Temple, which is located close to Nuwara Eliya.
Alongside a stream (in which Sitadevi is said to have bathed) a temple is
erected for Lord Rama, Sitadevi, Lukhmana and Hanuman.
Next stop is Divurumpola – about an hour’s drive. This is
where Sitadevi was subjected to a test to prove her chastity. Devotees taking
oaths are a common ritual here.
You will spend the night in Ella to end up 4th day of your Sri Lanka Ramayana Tour.
The next day, after an enjoyable breakfast, you will be
driven to Ravana Ella waterfall and the
Ravana Cave.
Ravana Falls is a breathtaking sight – 1080 feet high and
cascading into several mini falls. Near these Falls, several caves had formed,
in which King Ravana is believed to have lived. When you enter the Ravana Cave
tunnels, the architectural brilliance of King Ravana can be seen very clearly. These
tunnels were a secret passage and also a means of transport through the hills.
After the visit to the caves, you will be driven directly
to Tissamaharama and on your request, we will arrange a breath-taking wild safari
tour of the Yala National Park in the evening.
If you are not interested in going on a safari tour, you
have the luxury of enjoying the evening in a very relaxed atmosphere.
Overnight stay in Tissamaharama, 'Tissa Lake, face hotel.
After breakfast the next morning,
you will be driven to Kataragama to visit the Kataragama shrine – dedicated to
takes place here with a grand procession in which devotees’ exhibit talents
such as hanging from hooks and other similar performances.
Thereafter, you will be driven to
Ussangoda, situated on the Colombo – Kataragama road near Ambalantota –
Nonagama Junction in Hambantota District. Here you will be able to view a burnt
down area of King Ravana’s empire and as well as an airport also believed to be
used by Him.
After the visit here, you will be
driven to Galle, which is a 3-and-a-half-hour drive. In Galle you will
visit Rumasela – which is where parts of
the herbs from the Himalayan hills, brought by Lord Hanuman, are said to have
fallen.
The next place scheduled for you
to visit is the Seenigama Temple in Hikkaduwa, which is where King of the
Monkeys is said to have begun the onslaught on forces of King Ravana.
in the evening can visit Sri Lanka's most famous boat ride on Madu River.
Madu river Boat safari through the melodious, bird-colonized mangrove forests of Madu River, quivering with communities of land-dwelling mollusk's, river monsters, and wild butterflies in Balapitiya. It is Approximately 1 and half hour boat ride.
after that 1-hour drive to Bentota. Overnight stay in there.
Based on your time of departure, your friendly chauffeur
will drive you back safely to the airport.
