Day 01: Arrival (CMB) > Negombo or Colombo

When you arrive at Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport, our driver picks you up and takes you straight to your hotel in Negombo or Colombo. Negombo is in close proximity to the airport, Colombo is Sri Lankan commercial capital 30 km away from the Airport. Both places are the ideal place to stop and relax before you start exploring the rest of Sri Lanka.

After some rest, you will go to the beach area, which has a beach park, delicious food, and excellent drinks to enjoy. You will also have the opportunity to meet new people and actually experience the culture and hospitality of the residents.

Day 02 Anuradhapura

After Breakfast and leave for Anuradhapura 5 hours journey from Colombo.

Explore the ancient City of Anuradhapura in the afternoon.

Anuradhapura is the birthplace of Sinhala civilization & one of the world’s largest archeological sites. It is considered as the greatest monastic city of the ancient world & was founded in the 5th century BC.

Day 03 Sigiriya

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Sigiriya.

Explore the 8th wonder of the ancient World “Sigiriya Lion Rock”.

Sigiriya is an ancient palace located in the central Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters (660 ft) high. According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the Culavamsa, this site was selected by King Kasyapa (477 – 495 CE) for his new capital. He built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes. On a small plateau about halfway up the side of this rock he built a gateway in the form of an enormous lion. The name of this place is derived from this structure Sīhāgiri, the Lion Rock. The capital and the royal palace were abandoned after the king’s death. It was used as a Buddhist monastery until the 14th century.

After visiting the Sigiriya Lion Rock, do a village tour to a traditional Village where you can meet a local village family. There, you can participate a cookery demonstration of local cuisines and you will have your freshly made Sri Lankan lunch with the locals.

Day 04 Polonnaruwa

You will be transferred to the second kingdom and the medieval capital of Sri Lanka “Polonnaruwa Ancient City”. Explore ancient ruins of Polonnaruwa.

Day 05 Kandy

Breakfast at the hotel and leave for Kandy via Dambulla. En- Route visit Dambulla Cave Temple.

Kandy is the second largest city in the country after Colombo. It was the last capital of the ancient kings’ era of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is both an administrative and religious city and is also the capital of the Central Province. Kandy is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988.

Day 06 Kandy

After breakfast, you will go on a city tour of Kandy, visiting places like the Wood carving, Gem Museum, Bahirawakanda Temple, the Royal Botanical Gardens Peradeniya, and the Kandy Garrison Cemetery.

Day 07 Nuwara Eliya

Breakfast at the Hotel and Leave for Nuwara Eliya.

Nuwara Eliya is a city, in the hill country of the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The city name meaning is “Little England” , “city on the plain (table land)” or “city of light”. The city is the administrative capital of Nuwara Eliya District, with a picturesque landscape and temperate climate. It is located at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 ft) and is considered to be the most important location for Tea production in Sri Lanka. The city is overlooked by Pidurutalagala, the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya is also known for the temperate, cool climate, the city is known for being the coolest area in Sri Lanka.

Day 09 Ella

Check out after breakfast at your hotel in Nuwara Eliya and you will be transferred to Nanu Oya train station for the most scenic train journey of Sri Lanka “Nanu Oya to Ella”.

You will have a scenic 2-hour train ride to Ella, and you will be picked up from Ella train station by our chauffer guide.

Ella is a small scenic town in Badulla District, and it is approximately 200 kilometers east of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 1,041 meters above sea level. The area has a rich biodiversity, dense with numerous varieties of flora and fauna. Also, a top popular tourist hub with full of beautiful sightseeing. The ideal place to relax while some beautiful trekking and sightseeing.

Day 11 Yala

Checkout from your hotel in Ella and transfer to the country’s most popular and visited “Yala National Park”.

Do an adventurous evening Jeep safari tour of Yala National Park to spot wild animals in their natural habitats.

Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, and also adjoining parks. The blocks have individual names such as, Ruhuna National Park (block 1) and Kumana National Park or ‘Yala East’ for the adjoining area. It is situated in the southeast region of the country and lies in Southern Province and Uva Province. The park covers 979 square kilometres (378 sq mi) and is located about 300 kilometres (190 mi) from Colombo. Yala was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900, and, along with Wilpattu was one of the first two national parks in Sri Lanka, having been designated in 1938. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and aquatic birds.

Day 14 Galle

You will be transferred to the capital of the southern province “Galle”

Explore the UNESCO World Heritage site “Galle Dutch Fort”.

An ancient city which is now a modern and buzzing town today. It was the most important seaport way back in history, where the sea faring merchants arrived at trade and barter. This is also where the Portuguese first set foot in the year 1505 and built a fortress, which was later captured and fortified by the Dutch. The fortress is one of the best preserved in the island. A visit to the fortress and to watch the sunset from the rampart is an experience unforgettable. The oldest Protestant church in the country called the ‘Groote Kirk’ built by the Dutch is located inside the Fort. It is situated close to New Oriental Hotel also built by them as the Governor’s Residence in 1684.
