It will be 3 hours' drive on the way you will begin your wildlife journey and head towards Wilpattu. you will visit the Anawilundawa Wetland Sanctuary for beautiful natural wetland and bird sightings. Northern Province is one of nine provinces of Sri Lanka and there are five districts in Northern Province, namely Jaffna, Vavuniya, Kilinochchi. Mannar & Mulative. Jaffna is the capital of the Northern Province & Jaffna district. The total population of the Northern Province records as 1.059 million according to the 2012 census.
Northern Province of Sri Lanka is located just 35km (22miles) from India. The province is surrounded by the ‘Gulf Mannar’ and ‘Palk Strait’ to the West side, Palk Strait to the North-West side, the famous Bay ‘Bay of Bengal’ to the north and east. The province has large number of Lagoons such as Jaffna Lagoon, Nanthi Kadal, Chundikulam Lagoon etc. Geographically, Northern Province belongs to dry zone as well as some parts belong to arid zone (Mannar). Area is mostly dry but receives rains from North-East Monsoon which occurs during months of November to March.

Check out from Jaffna hotel after your breakfast and proceed to the fort city of Eastern Province and one of most pristine and beautiful beaches of the Island – “Trincomalee”. The Journey from Jaffna to Trincomalee is about four-hour drive.
Trincomalee is one of major cities in Sri Lanka and largest city in Eastern Province. In ancient times, this city was called as “Gokanna” and the city is located on a peninsula in Trincomalee Bay formally called “Koddiyar Bay” (Fort by the river). This is well known as one of finest harbors in the world. Trincomalee is considered as one of major settlements of Indo- Aryan in ancient days.
Present day, Trincomalee is one of a top tourist destination in the island.

After breakfast, you will take a tour of Trincomalee, stopping at Koneswaram Temple, which stands on Swami Rock cliff and is a popular vantage point for watching blue whales.
Later, you will visit the Trincomalee War Cemetery, which contains 303 graves of the British Empire and other soldiers who were killed or died during World War II.
Following that, you will visit a hot springs site called Kanniya Hot Spring, and the only stone fort built by a colony during the French and Indian War called Fort Frederick.

You will be driven to a city on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It’s known as Galle Fort, the fortified old city founded by Portuguese colonists in the 16th century. The Galle Fort consists of stone sea walls, which were later on expanded by the Dutch.
There are also many narrow vehicle-free streets with architecture reflecting Portuguese, Dutch, and British rule. Notable buildings include the 18th-century Dutch Reformed Church. Galle Lighthouse stands on the fort’s southeast tip.
